Uptown's EpiCentre is primed for 'Sex'

Are you excited about "Sex and the City 2"? So is the EpiCentre.

Two hotspots at the dining/entertainment/shopping complex are celebrating this month's release of the anticipated movie sequel in their own special ways.

At StrikeCity: Four lucky women will win VIP passes to a special "Sex and the City 2" prescreening; they'll be given away Thursday night at StrikeCity’s weekly ladies extravaganza, "Strike and the City."

To be eligible to win, simply arrive at StrikeCity at 8 p.m. and begin bowling. Details of the contest will be announced during the course of the evening.

The special "Sex and the City 2" prescreening will take place on Wednesday, May 26, at EpiCentre Theaters. Additional information about the prescreening is available at www.officialprescreening.com. More information about "Strike and the City" is available at www.StrikeAndTheCity.com.

At Mez: On Thursday, May 27, the restaurant/lounge/movie theater welcomes Carrie and the gang back to the big screen by hosting a viewing party for the premiere of "Sex and the City 2."

DJ Mia from MTV’s "America’s Best Dance Crew" will be on hand, and prizes will be given away before and after the screening. A portion of all proceeds will be used to support breast health awareness. The party begins at 8 p.m. and the movie starts at 9:25 p.m.

Tickets to the event are $25 each and include champagne, dessert, giveaways and swag bags. For reservations or details, call 704-688-2400 or visit www.mezcharlotte.com or www.epicentretheaters.com.

Both StrikeCity and Mez are located at 210 E. Trade St. in Charlotte.

So, the SATC girls, who are (in)famous for drinking alcohol, wearing skimpy clothing, and sleeping around, are going to Dubai, where pretty much all of their favorite behaviors are forbidden?

That makes sense.

yeah that makes me laugh. Lets go to the most uptight country and film a movie like that. Lets just hope they don't hold hands or accidentally kiss on the beach. Dubai is lame, we got Myrtle Beach for a reason.

Epicenter is the center of cultural activity in Uptown. I am so glad we have the Epicenter. It has brought a sophistication to Charlotte that was needed. Even NYC doesn't have an Epicenter.

actually its the best piece of non fiction out there, 4 aging single women who cant make decisions, blow money like water, have guys constantly screw them over, are more obsessed with clothing than a career, or motherhood, and are always looking for a better offer....I can see how every skirt in this country identifies with them so much!

What do people see is this long drawn out horse face 45 yr old skinny legged overexposed Sarah Jessica Parker who cant act?

She must be doing somebody somewhere other than Matthew Broderick to stay where she is at for so long. Giddyup.

it's mister Ed's wife starring in a movie again.

EpiCentre and sophistication cant be mentioned in the same sentence!!! Hey how about the guys jumping off the 2nd floor up there, does that count as sophistication? What a joke!! Grow up!!!!

The epicenter is nothing but a lie from the start. They lied to the city about buidling condos on the roof just so they could get the permits to create all the bars they wanted. So, now they own the bars, have their trashy women and people throwing up in garbage cans, and lots of lawsuits to go along with all that class. Very nice indeed.

Whether you're a SATC lover or not, there is no denying that the Epicenter and StrikeCity are a blast! I mean come on, think of all the free stuff and good times they're providing: concerts, designer handbags and shoes, "swag" bags...the list is endless!!

All I know is that I love heading down there on Thursday nights because it really takes the edge off. In fact, I can't wait to get off work and head down there to get down to The Coconut Groove Band then bowl with my girlfriends. So, don't knock it till ya try it. Maybe a night out with your pals would keep you all from being so uptight. And, if your panties are still in a wad when you leave (which I highly doubt), then maybe you'll at least have gained a designer handbag...

I bet you carry a designer handbag!!!
