Outdoor concert season taking shape

Charlotte's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre added two concerts to its summer slate over the weekend:

First, Phish will bring its 2011 tour to the venue on Friday, June 17, before heading to Raleigh for a show the next evening. Fans who purchase a ticket to this concert will be able to download a free MP3 of the entire show (a fully mixed soundboard recording) from www.LivePhish.com, shortly after the band steps off stage. Phish's 2010 outing was named by SPIN as one of "25 Must-See Summer Tours."

And then on Sunday, Aug. 21, Journey and Foreigner will perform on the Verizon stage (with special guests Night Ranger).

Tickets for Journey and Foreigner will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, while Phish ticket sales open at 11 that same morning. Where to buy: LiveNation.com, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre box office, Ticketmaster outlets, or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.

I know your mainly talking about concerts at Verizon but dont forget to mention the biggest concert of the year in Charlotte..Carolina Rebellion at Metrolina Expo on May 7th. 18 bands, 3 stages...its going to rock!

Carolina Rebellion if you're depressed. Journey/Foreigner if you're possessed.

Gosh, hope none of them turn their amps up too loud. Wouldn't want to disturb anyone within a 3-mile radius, you know?

I'm sure Theoden is a nice guy, but this blog is USELESS.

Carolina Rebellion is actually all worthless. The reason 106.5 is such a terrible channel is because they still play 99% nu-metal. Clearly, whoever dictates programming there still wishes it was 1999.
