Dashboard Confessional to join Bon Jovi

Dashboard Confessional will perform the opening set at Bon Jovi’s concert at Time Warner Cable Arena on Thursday, April 22. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster (click here).

Dashboard Confessional last month released its sixth album, "Alter the Ending." The Florida alternative rock band is led by singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba.

The first time Dashboard Confessional played in Charlotte it was in a dude's garage and it was just Carraba and an acoustic guitar. Now he is playing in the arena with a washed-up band from the 80's. At least this will be an interesting mixture of fans. 45 year olds in leather jackets who do nails for a living, with their equally cool boyfirend who spends his entire paycheck from the mall shoe store on Ed Hardy t-shirts. A bunch of frat dudes who think they are ironic and clever for liking Bon Jovi, but only know 3 songs. And a bunch of 14 year old girls who spend their allowance at Hot Topic who think Dashboard "gets them". I'm sorry I'm going to miss it!

I'm not a big fan of either group, but why such hate? It's amazing how some people in this town hate the idea of others having a good time.

Projected hate in the guise of self acclaimed wannabe clever writing skills clearly is an indication of suppressed gender identity issues....

On the other hand as a 44 year old hetero male, I like Bon Jovi is a throwback to high school days, my then girlfriend and now wife hated Bon Jovi and had John Cougar posters on her walls...never heard of Dashboard however

Looks like the first poster has some hate issues alright. What a rotten thing to post about people you don't even know. Glad to hear he (she?) won't be at the show.
