Have you forgiven Tiger Woods?

Tiger Woods will play Charlotte's Quail Hollow Championship, which runs April 29 to May 2. It will be Woods' first tournament since he returned to golf at the Masters after a five-month hiatus during which multiple infidelities were revealed by over a dozen mistresses.

Do you think Tiger has paid for his sins? Will you have any problem cheering for him while he's here? Can you look at him the same way as you did before the sex scandal? Do you think he can return to being a positive role model and go back to pitching products for major companies? Please e-mail me at tjanes@charlotteobserver.com ASAP and share your thoughts ... I would love to hear from anyone, and am particularly interested in responses from women.

I used to hold Tiger in high esteem and I always rooted for him to win, because he seemed to have it all: Excellent athletic ability, a solid public image, and a seemingly good family life.

He doesn't have those last two things going for him anymore. As far as I am concerned, he's no better than Kobe Bryant or any other athlete who lacks good character. I'm done rooting for him.

Phil Mickelson and Jack Nicklaus are far better role models: Not only are they excellent golfers, but they also provide a good example for how to live a successful life without letting all that fame, money, and power go to your head. If Tiger wanted to tomcat around, he shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.

Why not? This is a personal matter he did not rob or kill anyone. I do not think it is anyone out here that what hoping their kid would be the next Tiger Woods. And it is many that would want to be in his shoes. Men has been cheating on their wives since slave days. Why is this not expected. Any man given the opportunity to be with a beautiful women and hope their wife do not find out, would make the right choice.

Hi I certainly do not look at him in the same regards as i did this time last year. I am a female and I feel so embarassed for his mother and really his wife and children. He was with like 20 women! awful! gross!
He certainly isnt a role model for children.
I thought tiger was the all american guy, and had a great story, and i always liked watching him and rooting for him.
now i no he is a great golfer, but i cannot look at him and think he's a great person.

I'll be seeing him in person on Sunday May 2! should be intersting

Its not up to me or any of you to forgive him.

This is total BS, Theoden. Tiger Woods doesn't owe you, me, nor anyone else that isn't his wife or children an apology, so asking if we've forgiven him is totally uncalled for. Last I checked, he didn't cheat on you. All you're doing is trying to further instigate public anger against something that doesn't concern them. Stop being part of the problem.

It is not my place, he lost his role model status as far as I am concerned but it is up to his wife to forgive him and not one of us sitting on the sideline.

He destroyed his credibility and he doesn't deserve it back. He thought he was invincible and he's not. Sad thing is his kids in 20 years will read about how big a scumbag their dad was/is. That's not a legacy I'd want to leave. It's not up to us to judge him as long as he didn't break the law. God will take care of that down the road. But in my humble opinion, he's a pig!
