'Idol' contestants to sing at Bobcats game

Three singers who got air time on "American Idol" -- including Charlotte Bobcats dancer Brittany Kerr -- will perform at Time Warner Cable Arena during halftime of Wednesday night's game between Charlotte and Chicago.

Kerr will be joined by David Leathers Jr. and Ariel Sprague. Leathers nearly made it to the semifinals after the judges announced plans to add a 13th male semifinalist, but was beaten out in a sudden-death-style competition with two other contestants.

The trio is also scheduled to appear on WCNC's "Charlotte Today" show at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

As a Bobcats fan and STH, I'm embarrassed by the squad MJ has put on the floor. They would probably struggle to beat Chicago's D-League affiliate.

Honestly, if MJ does not build soon, this team will be in Seattle by 2015. Remember the "Honey Bees?" This team needs players and needs them now, plus an image change. Hornets would bring back fans alone. Winning will bring Charlotte back to #1 in attendance, if not sell MJ and this team will be the Supersonics.

This should boost attendance by about 17. Good move.

Charlotte does not need an NBA team. What we need is minor league baseball or a football team at UNCC...Lol

You know why Raleigh doesn't have an NBA team? Because Charlotte would want one too.

AI and the Bobcats - wow - what a combo. These contestants need to get used to performing in front of empty houses.

I bet Brittany Kerr has better defense than Kemba. Suit her up!
