Lady Gaga is returning to Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, this time as a headliner.
The glam-pop queen, who opened for New Kids on the Block when they played the Bobcats' home venue in October 2008, will close out her 2010 "Monster Ball" tour with two Carolinas dates: Sept. 18 in Charlotte, then Sept. 19 at the RBC Center in Raleigh.
According to the Live Nation press release: "In keeping with Lady Gaga's flair for the theatrical, as well as her innovative and creative spirit ... the tour promises to push the limits of the live concert experience, bringing fans an (eye-popping) spectacle."
"It has a New York theme, it's a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we're going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost," Lady Gaga said in a February radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on L.A.'s KIIS-FM.
Lady Gaga's five singles -- "Just Dance," "Poker Face," "Lovegame," "Paparazzi," and "Bad Romance" -- have sold more than 30 million singles worldwide. Lady Gaga recently premiered the video for her new single "Telephone," featuring Beyoncé, on the E! television network and entertainment website VEVO. See it here. (Warning: Explicit content.)
On-sale date will be announced this spring. Stay tuned...
... gaga, goo ...
ReplyDeleteShe is sveryting that is wrong with music today.
ReplyDeleteShe's everything wrong with human-kind to be more exact.
ReplyDeleteSweet! This is great for me because it includes both my love of terrible music and my love of freaks!
ReplyDeleteWill be a great night to go hoggin'. A bunch of middle-aged women, still in denial that they aren't 18, squeezing tube tops two sizes too small. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThen you guys don't have to go. You should be writing for Rolling Stone instead. I'm thrilled!! I'm goo-goo for GaGa!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, it's not going to be middle-aged women, it's going to be all the gay men in Charlotte and surrounding areas!
(RA)^2(AH)^3 ROMA(1+MA) (GA)^2(OOH)(LA)^2
Someone gag me with a damn spoon....This ain't music folks!
ReplyDeleteShe really sucks, she has some kind of identity crisis going on. Oh yeah and you cant even call what she does music! can ya?
ReplyDeleteHaters in full force. Nobody is forcing you to go or listen to her music. I am not even a fan but get over yourselves.
ReplyDeleteShe will be awesome! Can't wait to sit my 40 something ass down to watch this spectacle. As an oldie, I liken it to KISS (70's of course, Alice Cooper and a bit of retro Bowie - Ziggie Stardust). Bring it on...need some fun and gun for the same old also rands.
ReplyDeleteSad lives for people who,

Losers! More dance room for me at the show!
"Losers! More dance room for me at the show!"
ReplyDeleteThe irony of this statement is that only a loser would dance at a Lady Gaga concert. But it is a good thing that you will have more room to "dance" or more likely just spin in circles while flailing your arms. Once you get some momentum, that gut could really do some damage if somebody got in your way.

So then I won't see you at the show? Aw, you sound like a blast!
What's the big deal? You dont like the music, don't go! Part of me wants to go to see the spectacle that is her shows, but I don't want to pay big bucks for it. Her music does have a good beat though
ReplyDeleteI Pass....And spend my money for a better performer...Someone else can support her.
ReplyDeleteAny interested in actual music may want to check out Hammerfall in Atlanta this September.
ReplyDeleteAnyone see her on SNL She unlike BS ( Britney S***) can play and really sings... Its like Kiss - Alice Cooper - Queen- Elton John and Madonna plus some more... 30 million records sold. I might go!!!
ReplyDeleteShe's actually very intelligent, creative, talented and socially-aware. I think she's amazing, and I'm looking forward to the show!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like her, that's okay. She doesn't care if you don't like her. In fact, she does things to shock you on purpose.
I think she is trying to be like an early Madonna, but with the add on effect of looking like she is tweaking on crystal meth. She covers her face up because THAT is why people still claim she is a man. I can't tell if any pop singer can really sing anymore due to the vocalizers and touch up wizardry in the studios nowadays. Say what you want about Michael Jackson, but we all knew that dude could sing. Lady GaGa? Do an acoustic record and let's hear if she sounds like GaGa or Gary.
ReplyDeleteTo Anon above, check out her song 'Speechless.' It may change your opinion of her ability. She's a self-taught piano player from age 4 and was accepted into prestigious music schools in middle and high school. The wiki entry does a good job of differentiating between the personality Lady GaGa and Stefani [last name here], as well as her own references to the GaGa character and her own personal self. Yes, I love the GaGa (and Aimee Mann!)
ReplyDeleteLove some Gaga.
ReplyDeleteLove some KISS.
Love some Maryln Manson
Love some David Bowie
Love some Culture Club
Love some Wham
Love some Michael Jackson
Love some Prince
Love some Elton John
Love some Madonna
I simply LOVE artistic ARTIST!
I'm goo goo over GaGa too! If you don't like her music, that's fine. There are plenty of people who do. It's going to be a fun show and I can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked at all the hate! I never could understand why people put so much energy into being nagative and hateful. If you don't like her....don't go. Go find something to be positive about. I think everyone around you would be much happier if you did.
ReplyDeleteHmm I am positive that I won't go. She looks like she would be a fun romp, but her music is like a bad accident, its not good but you have to watch it to see what happens.
ReplyDeleteGoo goo for Ga Ga here. All the haters can just stay at home and complain some more. It's not like you do anything worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteIn response to "Isnt she the lady with a cock?"
ReplyDeleteThe answer is, it's a Disco Stick! A vertical stick!
If you listened to her music you would know those lyrics.
What see is packing doesn't matter, it her talent that wows me! Go GaGa!
If an adult says they are "goo goo for Gaga", then it is highly doubtful they do anything worthwhile either.
ReplyDeleteI have seen Lady Gaga interviewed several times on television and always had the same impression of her -- she is an intelligent, articulate, and well spoken lady. She has developed a gimmick like her musical predecessors before her, Sting, Marilyn Manson, Cher and Madonna, in order to stand out from the crowd and have a career, and not be merely another flash in the pan...You go, Lady Gaga...
