"American Idol’s" Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert will bring "The Glam Nation Tour" to The Fillmore Charlotte at uptown's N.C. Music Factory on Friday, July 2.
A Live Nation press release promises that his show will be "an audio and visual spectacular, both theatrical and atmospheric," with Lambert adding: "I hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement. And I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album."
Lambert's debut album, "For Your Entertainment," has sold more than 600,000 copies since making bowing at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in November. He is the first openly gay mainstream pop singer to release a CD on a major label in U.S.
Australian pop-rocker Orianthi and Allison Iraheta (who finished fourth during the same season of "Idol") will open the show.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at LiveNation.com, the Fillmore/Uptown Box office, Ticketmaster, or by calling 800-745-3000.

This should be pretty good. Not really looking forward to going down to the Fillmore though. Too many drunk hoochie momma whores and teenie boppers. Was hoping that damn place wouldn't turn into another trashy Epicenter. Maybe Adam's presence will bring in a diverse crowd over there and run out all the trash - at least for one night!

Just because you think Adam Lambert is a rock singer doesn't mean he is. You probably think that Chris Daughtry plays hard rock. Sorry, but there is nothing original or unique about Adam Lambert's music. Sure, he has a great voice, but wearing make-up and platform boots doesn't make you edgy. Please report back about who all attends this show. It's going to mostly be kids and middle-aged women. Also, I don't live in Ballantyne. I'm not new money. Scary that those on the left keep calling "racism" of the teaparty movement when it is about following the Constitution and has nothing to do with race. Wow! I'm from Alabama and I was thrilled to finally see a Southern date on Adam's tour...until reading the comments. God I f*cking hate the South!! I'm already planning to go to CT to see Adam but I will be trying to get tix to this show as well and if I do I will be there with an army of loyal Glamberts who will defend Adam's honor to the bitter end.
